Scheduling was super easy

Used Deputy for employee scheduling last month. Honestly, it made things way simpler than our old spreadsheet system. Setting up shifts was a breeze, and my team actually used the app without much fuss. Pretty happy with how that went.

Good value for what you get

I was looking for a decent workforce management solution that wouldn't break the bank, especially for our small business. Tried the free trial first, which was great for getting a feel for everything. Then, I signed up for the annual plan to get that discount they offer, which worked out to a good saving. The Employee Scheduling and Time Tracking features have been super useful for managing our part-timers. It's definitely helped us keep our labor costs in check, so I feel like I got good value for the money.

Smooth trial experience

I tried Deputy for the 31-day free trial to check out the Time Tracking and Payroll Integration. Setup was straightforward, and it connected with Xero without any hiccups. The mobile app for employees was intuitive, making clock-ins and outs easy. Support answered a question about custom roles promptly. Overall, it was a solid experience.

Reliable for team management

We've been using Deputy for a few years now, and this latest purchase for additional licenses just reinforces why we stick with them. The consistency is what really stands out; features like Shift Planning and the Employee Communication App always work as expected. I've seen them add new stuff like AI Labor Forecasting, which is a nice touch, but the core tools are still super reliable. Support has always been responsive if we hit a snag. It just integrates so well with our daily operations, makes it easy to keep coming back.

Thinking about Deputy for my small business, but kinda confused about pricing. Do they have a free version or something for really small teams, or is it all paid plans?

D Daniel Miller 1 month ago
Yeah, they definitely have a free trial, it's like 31 days from what I remember. Great for testing it out without commitment. After that, it's paid though.

You can use it for free, but it's super limited features. Like, not really for running a whole business, more for personal tracking maybe. The trial is the real way to go.

Considering Deputy vs When I Work for scheduling our cafe staff. Any thoughts on which is better for a hospitality setting, especially with managing breaks and shift swaps?

S Steven P. 1 month ago
I used When I Work before Deputy and honestly, Deputy's auto-scheduling and shift swap features are way more intuitive for my restaurant. Plus, the communication tools are better.

For hospitality, Deputy is pretty solid. They have specific features for breaks and making sure you're compliant with those rules. My old boss swore by it.

how long does it typically take to get Deputy fully set up and running for a team of about 15 people? Is it something I can do in an afternoon or more like a week-long project?

M Megan P. 1 month ago
Depends how complicated your schedules are, but for 15 people, you could probably get the basics running in an afternoon. Getting all the rules and employee info perfect might take another day or two.

I got our cafe up and running with 10 staff in a few hours. The trickiest part was getting all the individual shift rules and availability loaded in. Once that's done, it's smooth sailing.

Does anyone know if Deputy plays nice with Xero for payroll? Trying to avoid a huge headache with manual transfers between systems.

E Ella Turner 1 month ago
Mine integrates with Xero perfectly fine. Set it up last year and haven't had any issues. Saves a ton of time.

Yeah, it integrates. I mean, you still gotta check things but it automates a lot of the payroll stuff if you're using Xero.

Are there any good deals for Deputy right now? Or should I just jump on the free trial and hope for the best?

B Brittany Parker 2 weeks ago
The free trial is usually the main 'deal'. I think if you pay annually you get a discount, like 10-20% off. Worth asking them about if you decide to stick with it.

I don't think they do promo codes much. They're more about the annual discount and sometimes non-profit stuff. Just do the trial.
